Words that should be added/modified

Word Occurence Explanation
appropbriation no.283 missing space after 2nd example, what's "het" in that example?
convalesce no.1072 no space before bold in example

Import errors:

  • '1318 ad hominen A way of arguing or criticizing that ignores the larger issues at hand and just attacks someone's character adj. Latin : "aimed at the man." Questions to answer:

  • Difference between abate & attenuate
    → abate can weaken to the point of disappearing, attenuate has to be always present.
  • Difference between castigate & chastize
  • Are fervid & fervent the same word?
  • Connotation of facetious
  • diatribe vs harangue
    → harangue more official and bombastic?
  • Difference between obstinate & obdurate
  • quiescence vs. abeyance
  • phlegmatic has a negative connotation, doesn't it?
  • mendacity vs.
  • presage vs. omen
