- Difference between abate & attenuate
→ abate can weaken to the point of disappearing, attenuate has to be always present. - Difference between castigate & chastize

→ harangue more official and bombastic? - Difference between obstinate & obdurate
- quiescence vs. abeyance
- phlegmatic has a negative connotion, doesn't it?
